Steven Weber: Some Final Thoughts on the RNC
Tonight I turned on the TV, saw McCain’s face, and began channel-surfing. I knew I’d just get worked up and angry if I kept watching. Thankfully, this guy did it for me.
One bizarro moment was stopping on a Spanish-language station and hearing McCain mostly drowned out by a dubbed (Spanish) male voice a bit remarkably similar to his. I paused there long enough to see the camera pan over an enthusiastic Republican holding a sign saying “Mavrick” (sic).
Two channels and ten seconds later I was happy to find Blade Runner on Ion, but after about 45 minutes, I was in danger of falling asleep during a commercial break. I’ll rent the DVD.
