One of my coworkers always writes “its”, both for the possessive of “it” and as the contraction of “it is.” Another writes “it’s” for both. One day I snapped and wrote an email suggesting that A please give B some of his apostrophes!
So now imagine my annoyance at receiving notice of a typo on a web page: CD’s should be CDs. And surprise, that according to this, CDs is correct; CD’s, while also correct, is merely preferred by some editors, professors and teachers.
