Seen on a bumper sticker: I UNICODE.

  1. Well, I see the middle character simply as a question mark even though the original markup has some unicode value - so my browser is perhaps creating its own version of the joke?

  2. At first glance, I just thought it echoed a pretty common (including my own) ambivalent sentiment towards unicode, but Nick’s comment prompted me to look at with 3 different browsers on the same platform (Safari, IE, and Firefox) each with a slightly different take ... so perhaps this is a case where the machine gets the joke better than I.

  3. I saw a comment on another blog about this same sticker, spotted in the Bay Area. The blogger’s headline, however, at least in my WinXP/Firefox browser, read “I <square box> UNICODE”.

    Funny either way.
