Got a Peripheral Electronics PXDP iPod to car stereo adapter for my ‘05 Jetta yesterday. It provides a direct line output from the iPod to the factory stereo head (into the input for the optional CD changer), and power to the iPod (the two main things I wanted) but controlling the iPod from the head isn’t working as it’s supposed to. Peripheral’s tech support wasn’t answering their phones on New Year’s Eve and we double-checked the DIP switches. Will try calling them again on Monday. Meanwhile, at least there are tunes in the car now.

hey - i am thinking about buying an ipod2car device and hooking it up to my 2002 Jetta, I was thinking about connecting it via the pre wired cd changer port in my trunk. had you tried that? are you able to control the track selections from the ipod? did you ever get the controls working on the head unit so that they properly controlled the ipod?
