Monday night I finally finished remixing the groovy piece. (It turned out there was enough CPU after all—I’d done the original mix on an 800 MHz TiBook but have since upgraded to a 1.33 GHz one and that more than made up the difference.) Tonight I tackled a piece with a relatively short and easy list of things to fix. The main issue was that too many parts were panned too close to center. Different strategies worked for different parts:
There’s one place in the piano solo where the sustain pedal is being held too long—it’s not a problem in the high register, but it makes a blur in the middle register. Maybe it will bug me enough in the morning to be worth fixing the MIDI track and bouncing the RD-700 back to audio, but otherwise, this one might be done.
