Done with the drums on the piece I’ve been working on this month—except for an idea for improving the ending which needs to be checked out first. Trouble is, a 1.33 GHz PowerBook G4 isn’t going to have enough horsepower to make it easy to manipulate this:
All the muted tracks (everything except drums and and a few minor additions that crept in along the way) were earlier bounced to a submix (not shown). Now I want to try extending the ending, which means doing some copy-and-pasting or additional recording on all the instruments which were submixed. Freezing tracks (rendering audio instruments and effects to disk) is not the answer; this is an 8-minute song and it would probably take more than 8 minutes to freeze enough tracks. Not practical when trying things out. The trick might be to bounce individual instrument tracks to audio, then copy/paste the audio bits.
