Motivation ::

I finished my last complete track over a month ago—there are now 47 minutes of rough demos since Christmas, all needing some work. The idea was to keep pressing forward with more new stuff but it hasn’t happened, at least not with any tangible results.

There are several hours of raw improvs in a more soundscape-ish vein than what I’d been doing. And I now have the raw tracks from the jam I did with Pat and Chisa in April—I’m listening to it now and the first 30 minutes (of 41) have one fine moment after another. There’s enough raw material for a couple of full-length space explorations.

There are also a few piano-based bits I’ve worked out and could do something with—another potential direction.

What seems to be missing is the motivation to get into Polishing mode (on the first 47 minutes of material) or Arranging mode (on everything else). I seem content to make new synth patches, record more improvs, and fool around with these piano progressions. At least my fingers are on the keys.
