Scribe, Colorist ::

I’ve put two small utilities for Mac OS X on my freeware page.

Scribe is a TextEdit-like application that will play the audio from a QuickTime movie at variable rates. You might find it useful for transcribing a (spoken word) audio recording.

Colorist is a simple HTML color picker.

  1. I’m baffled; perhaps you can throw some light on this?

    I’ve been using your Scribe for some three years or so now, and find it the best transcribing programme [I’m a journalist.]

    The hard disk on my G4 iBook croaked, I bought a MacBook, swapped the data over from the iBook before the hard disk died, and Scribe works perfectly on the Macbook.

    Then, I had a new HDD fitted to the iBook, and updated its OSX to 10.4.11, similarly to the Macbook. Now Scribe won’t accept an audio file [MP3 - the programme crashes as soon as you put the file in the window.]

    I’ve deleted and reinstalled Scribe on the iBook, but the same thing happens, while it still works seamlessly on the  Macbook - weird; any ideas?

    Best,

    Martin
