Silence ::

I found another newsletter in my mailbox.
I remembered the two you placed in my hands
in what seems another life now,
and the one that broke our long silence.

But I knew before I looked inside
(your name not there)
it was not your voice
--just a computer-generated, mechanical echo
like the memories stirring me to write this
in another silence.
