Jamie asked me:
Maybe you would know, is there a function like shuffle in Pro Tools, where you can drag a region and have it snap to the butt end of the previous region? I assemble a lot of clips, and they don’t fall on bar or second boundaries, but they always but together tail to head. I wish there were
A. a way to drag and drop them so they arranged themselves sequentially rather than atop each other..
B. barring that, there should be a method as above described where they snap to the end of the previous region end, regardless of whether that’s on a bar or time boundary.
I just poked around and discovered this.
Drag the audio regions onto one track in the arrange window and don’t worry about where they land as long as they’re in the right order (I chose gaps rather than overlaps, though that might not matter). Then select all the regions and choose Functions > Object > Tie Objects by Length Change. Now the audio regions should be butted up against each other.
I didn’t try it, but I suspect you can rearrange the regions and repeat the command with the same effect. And it’s option-Tab by default.
