AliasesToLinks ::

When setting up a large collection of desktop pictures, it may be preferable to have the collection consist of aliases to photos in other folders, instead of containing the originals, or copies. But Mac OS X 10.2's Desktop panel won’t recognize traditional Macintosh aliases (which are what the Finder creates).

But the Desktop panel does support Unix-style aliases (symbolic links). AliasesToLinks converts a folder full of aliases into another folder containing symbolic links.
