I had a coincidence recently that’s too personal to describe here. Yesterday morning, after writing about it, I realized, it was connected in more ways than one to Justin’s preparing to leave for Sweden. I’d read it a few days prior, and had been quite touched.
Justin had written: “Look around: there are flowers in every country.”
One part of my coincidence was a connection between two flower gardens in two foreign cities.
Justin: “Something came to me last week—popped into my mind—like a surprise gift in the mail. It was a simple phrase that summarized a recent theme in my life. See with your eyes, and not with your mind.”
While I’d been reflecting on the coincidence, a meteor fell straight downward, directly ahead of me. I’d written:
There was a long moment, it seemed almost an eternity, between the flash of the meteor and “seeing” it, thinking of what I should wish for. Many thoughts raced, then quickly vanished. I wish only for each moment to be as sharp and clear as the flash of that shooting star.
I thanked Justin for having helped, in some small way, create this.
