Waking Life ::

I met a couple last month; he makes animations in Final Cut Pro, she’s a freelance writer. I got talking to them about his work, and asked if they’d seen Waking Life, a wonderfully done animation that I’m told was created with Final Cut Pro. It’s been maybe 6-12 months since I saw it, so I’ll have to see it again to reflect in any depth on the questions it raises about the Meaning of Life, but I do remember the stunning animation ... many scenes looked like live video that had been digitally processed into animation, as if every frame had been lovingly tweaked in Photoshop with an artist’s hand.

Then today I was writing to a friend, comparing some experiences to having woken from a strange dream, wondering “what was *that* all about?”, and the friend’s reply was to suggest I see Waking Life.

Which reminds me, I’d like to see Vanilla Sky again.
