Waking Life ::

I met a couple last month; he makes animations in Final Cut Pro, she’s a freelance writer. I got talking to them about his work, and asked if they’d seen Waking Life, a wonderfully done animation that I’m told was created with Final Cut Pro. It’s been maybe 6-12 months since I saw it, so I’ll have to see it again to reflect in any depth on the questions it raises about the Meaning of Life, but I do remember the stunning animation ... many scenes looked like live video that had been digitally processed into animation, as if every frame had been lovingly tweaked in Photoshop with an artist’s hand. ...

The Roots of Coincidence ::

The drive home from work offered a couple of minor coincidences. Of the 474 songs on my iPod, the random song shuffler picked Red Letter’s “Still Dreaming” (from Reach, which precedes my tenure in the band). Odd considering what I wrote this morning about Waking Life. ...
