Wag the Dog ::

I guess a lot of people watched a televised entertainment event last night. I spent several hours on the phone with a friend, then turned on the radio at 11pm, to try to catch the hourly news. Instead of the news, there was Willie Nelson leading a large group singing “God Bless America.” All I could think of was the movie Wag the Dog, where the president hires a Hollywood producer to popularize a war carefully staged to distract the nation ... and Willie Nelson (if I remember correctly) gets commissioned to write the theme song.
